Thing 1 and Thing 2

My very first goal for the 23 Things program was to actually keep up with each weeks Thing, so far so good.

I have I Google as a second tab on my web browser but my son told me that it slows the computer down has anyone else experienced this?

  1. My computer is always slow, but I have noticed that it seems slower now. I just thought that it was getting ready to crash and retire. It would be good to know if there is any truth to the slow-down effect.

  2. I think there is some truth to that unfortunately. Take a look at the gadgets that seem to be taking the longest time to load, and consider removing those ones. That might help to speed things up (but I don't really know this for sure). On my iGoogle page, I had the Facebook gadget for a while, but it never seemed to load, so I eventually just removed it.

  3. My web browser (at home) opens to I-Google but somehow I added as a second tab another search engine (can't remember off-hand what it is). So now I have a total of three tabs on my web-browser (3rd one being a blank tab). I noticed that my computer has slowed down quite a bit. So now I will have to figure out how to get rid of that 2nd tab.

  4. My husband Brian had me set firefox to erase cookies 9or something like that) everytime firefox shut down and that worked for a while. Unfortunatly it has the effect of making iGoogle useless since it doesn't remember any personal choices. It's because it has to remember your page configurations and load the gadgets when it boots that makes it slow, I think.
